Every book has a short, unique code that contributors can use to find and submit to your book — especially useful for SMS and messaging channels.
What is a book code?
A book code is a short alphanumeric identifier (e.g., ABC123) assigned to your book. Contributors can text this code to the Memorybook SMS number or include it in a message to start submitting.
Where to find it
The book code appears on your book's detail page, alongside the shareable link and QR code.
Custom book codes
By default, book codes are auto-generated. If you'd like a more memorable code (e.g., DADS60TH), you can set a custom code from the book settings page. Custom codes must be unique across the platform.
How contributors use it
- SMS — text the book code to the Memorybook phone number, then follow the prompts to submit a memory.
- WhatsApp / Telegram — send the book code as the first message to start a submission session.
