Sharing via link and QR code

Every book gets a shareable link and a QR code that you can send to contributors.

Shareable link

Find the shareable link on your book's detail page. Click Copy link to copy it to your clipboard. You can paste it into a text message, email, social media post, or anywhere else.

Send it with one tap

Next to the link you'll find WhatsApp, Text message, and Email buttons, plus a Share button on phones that opens your device's share sheet. These attach the link for you so it arrives complete and clickable. Prefer them over copy-and-paste: if you paste the link and then type right next to it without a space, your messaging app can swallow part of the link, and contributors who tap it get an access-denied page.

How the link works with each visibility mode

• Public: the link is your book's slug-based URL (e.g., /b/my-book/). No token is needed; anyone with the URL can view the book.
• Link only: the link includes a secret token (e.g., /b/my-book/?token=abc123...). Only people who have this exact link can view the book. Visiting the URL without the token returns an access denied page.
• Private: the link does not grant access on its own. Only logged-in members can view the book. Use invitations to grant access instead.

Revoking access

For link only books, you can regenerate the secret token at any time from your book settings. This immediately invalidates every previously shared link; recipients will need the new link to access the book. The QR code is also updated automatically.

QR code

Each book also has a QR code that links directly to the submission page. For link only books the QR code includes the secret token, so scanning it grants access automatically. You can:

• Download as PNG: for printing on invitations, posters, or table cards.
• Download as SVG: for high-resolution printing at any size.

The QR code is perfect for events: print it on a sign and guests can scan to submit a memory right from their phone.

Tips

• Include a short message with the link explaining what the book is for and what kind of memories you'd love to receive.
• For weddings or parties, print the QR code on a card at each table.
• If you're collecting memories over time, pin the link somewhere your group will see it regularly.
• If you switch from link only to public, the token is no longer checked. Old links with the token still work, and the book is now accessible without one.
• If you switch from public to link only, anyone who previously bookmarked the plain URL will lose access until they receive the new shareable link with the token.

Sharing a single memory

Every memory has its own page with a Share button (on phones this opens the device share sheet) and a Copy Link button. As the book owner you also see embed code on that page for placing the one memory on another website.
