When you create a memory book, you'll see a "What's this book for?" picker. The choice tailors a few things to fit the occasion:
- Empty-state copy: the dashboard greeting before any memories arrive. A daily journal asks you to add today's entry; a wedding book asks you to share the link with guests.
- Activity reminder emails: the suggestions inside the gentle nudge email match the book's purpose. A solo journal reminds you to write a quick entry; a multi-contributor book reminds you to share the link.
- PDF cover flourish: each occasion has its own decorative glyph on the printed cover (✦ for memorials and weddings, ✿ for baby arrivals, and so on).
- "Invite members" visibility: solo journal books hide the Invite members CTA since you're the only contributor.
Changing the purpose later
You can change the picker any time from the book's Settings page. The change applies immediately; there's no migration step.
Picking "Other / not sure"
If none of the listed use cases fit your book, or you'd rather not pick one, leave it on "Other / not sure". The book stays neutral: standard dashboard copy, standard reminder bullets, no decorative glyph on the printed cover.
