Something not working the way you expected? Here are the most common hiccups and how to sort them out.
"My contributors can't see my book"
This usually comes down to your book's visibility setting. If your book is set to link only, contributors need the full shareable link with the secret token included. A plain URL without the token won't grant access. If your book is private, only invited members can view it, so you'll need to send invitations first. Double-check your visibility setting under book settings.
"QR code doesn't work"
If you recently regenerated your book's secret token, any previously printed QR codes are now invalid; you'll need to download and reprint the new one. Also make sure the QR code is printed large enough to scan reliably (at least 2 cm or 1 inch across). See sharing via link and QR code for more details.
"I'm not receiving SMS, WhatsApp, or Telegram submissions"
First, confirm the channel is enabled in your book settings. Contributors also need to include your book code at the start of their message so it gets routed to the right book. Finally, verify the phone number or bot handle they're messaging is correct. See using book codes for how codes work.
"A contributor didn't get their verification email"
Ask them to check their spam or junk folder; the email comes from [email protected]. If your book's verification mode is set to none, no email is sent at all because submissions go straight through without verification. You can change the verification mode in your book settings.
"My submission didn't appear on the book"
If the book owner has manual moderation turned on, every submission needs to be approved before it shows up. The owner can review and approve pending submissions from their dashboard. If you submitted via SMS or messaging, make sure you included the correct book code. See reviewing and approving submissions for how moderation works.
"A photo shows as failed"
Images above roughly 89 million pixels are rejected as a safety limit and the photo is marked failed. Everyday phone photos are well under this, but the full-resolution output of a 200-megapixel camera mode is not. Ask the contributor to resend the photo at a normal resolution; every phone offers one.
"I can't find my edit link"
Check your email for the original submission confirmation; it contains your personal edit link. If you submitted without providing an email address, there's no way to retrieve the link automatically. In that case, reach out to the book owner and ask them to help.
